Camden Goods Yard planning proposal ‘Highly Commended’ at Planning Awards

Our collaborative approach to engaging with local residents has been acknowledged at this year’s Planning Awards, where we were ‘highly commended’ for our work with residents in Juniper Crescent and Gilbeys Yard in Camden.

Our collaborative approach to engaging with local residents has been acknowledged at this year’s Planning Awards, where we were ‘highly commended’ for our work with residents in Juniper Crescent and Gilbeys Yard in Camden.

This is great recognition for the hard work that went into establishing regular and positive dialogue with the Residents’ Steering Group, ensuring that their input and views were the central factor in deciding the way forward. An impressive seventy-five percent of households on the estates engaged in some way throughout the option appraisal process, either online, at events or home visits.

Monika Petrasova, from the Residents’ Steering Group, who attended the award ceremony, said: “[I’m] absolutely delighted that we have been Highly Commended for the Award. We’ve been pleasantly surprised by the level of involvement in the regeneration project from the start.

The panel of judges were particularly impressed by the transparency we’ve shown throughout the process, providing residents with access to full and comprehensive information to ensure that they could make a fully informed decision on the future of their estates.

Another factor that made our proposal stand out is its long-lasting impact on the local community, where we propose to deliver between 650 and 700 new homes, a major new public space and a community facility.

We would like to thank all of the residents who have engaged with us during the consultation process – this achievement would not have been possible without their commitment and involvement. We hope this continues as our plans and discussions progress.
