Baycroft Great Baddow rated Outstanding for responsiveness

    Following Baycroft Great Baddow’s first inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the care home was rated Outstanding in responsiveness and Good in safe, effective, caring and well-led.

    Following Baycroft Great Baddow’s first inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the care home was rated Outstanding in responsiveness and Good in safe, effective, caring and well-led.

    The CQC report highlighted that residents were treated with utmost respect and their dignity maintained. Staff also knew their residents well including their family history and backgrounds which was used to encourage people to maintain their interests.  

    Information and systems were looked at as part of the report and these were used in a way that considered how best to deliver person-centred care that improved resident’s outcomes.

    The residents of the home spoke very highly of the staff who went the extra mile to provide personalised care. Staff also used innovative and individual ways of making the home inclusive including encouraging community and intergenerational engagement.

    The manager of the home was also praised for providing leadership and being a positive role model. The report also highlighted that there was an inclusive, open and honest culture in the home with a high level of staff satisfaction. Staff were happy in their work and created a warm, caring atmosphere and ambience.

    Baycroft Great Baddow based in Chelmsford, is registered to provide 24-hour personalised residential, nursing and dementia care to 64 residents. Baycroft is part of care and supported housing provider One Housing. The CQC regulates the premises and the care provided and both were looked at during this inspection.
