About us |
Building Lives Training AcademyBuilding Lives is a community interest company which was set up by social entrepreneur Steve Rawlings in 2009 to deliver free construction training, apprenticeships and employment opportunities for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
Arlington’s Building Lives training academy was the first of its kind; it was officially opened by Mayor of London Boris Johnson in 2010. Since that time more Building Lives training academies have opened in London and the South East.
The academies offer local people accredited City and Guilds Level 1 and Level 2 courses in multi-skills construction, coupled with long term paid work placements with partner organisations such as support services provider Lakehouse, a keen advocate of the initiative.
