Residential accommodation

Supported housing

We personalise our support programme to meet the individual needs of our residents. Our support team aim to provide care and support 95 individuals at any one time to help them rebuild their lives and move on to independent living. Our residents come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances – some have only been homeless for a short time, others have been homeless for many years. The different units of accommodation encompass all functions of the London borough of Camden Hostel Pathway Model, providing valuable resources to support more homeless and vulnerable people.

There are four stages in Camden’s hostel pathway – assessment, specialist, progress and move through. This is reflected in the bed designation and design of our supported housing units.

Assessment units (19 units) are designed to provide rapid access to those newly or entrenched in rough sleeping, providing intensive support enabling them to reconnect with their families and move to the next stage of accommodation.

High support progress units (25 units) respond to the community’s older population with customer involvement that enables different sets of skills towards meaningful occupation; gardening and artist workshops.

Specialist units (14 units) are for people with substance use problems provide a programme of support for harm reduction and minimisation. The support team work closely with providers treating customers who have aspirations towards abstinence.

Generic progress units (21 units) provide stability and support focused on gaining life skills training and completing or working towards training.

Move through units (16 units) are designed to prepare residents for independent living, often in the private sector. These units are for those beginning or going on to further academic training or employment.
